Alabama farmers were asked to make large increases in peanut production in 1942 to help supply additional quantities of vegetable oils needed for domestic wartime uses and for shipment to our allies. Still greater production is sought in 1943. ... This report has been prepared to help farmers complete their 1943 plans. Basic information was obtained from farmers, results of experiment stations' research, county agents, and other agricultural workers. Experiences of peanut producers in 1942 were obtained on a state-wide basis from a mailed questionnaire. Data regarding labor requirements, costs, and returns were secured in Henry and Marshall Counties through interviews with producers there.en_US
