This document is the report of Dr. Keith A. Jones, consultant on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) to the South-East Consortium for International Development (SECID) on the use of IPM for control of insect pests in vegetable gardens in Haiti as part of the US AID-funded Haiti Productive Land Use Systems (PLUS) Project. The report analyzes current "bio-intensive" and home garden vegetable production with regard to viability and sustainability in light of current IPM strategies. It also presents data on the most important pests and makes recommendations for their control. The report also evaluates data about pest problems for fields with hedgerows as soil conservation structures.
